Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has addressed President William Ruto’s unexpected backlash after being displayed in a viral silhouette

Addressing people during a church service in AIPCA in Dandora, Gachagua urged the president not to be too sensitive and overreact to such criticisms, claiming that it is the president himself who is the mastermind of such heinous acts.

He added that the youths are only having fun with their phones and that alone should not form a concrete ground for extra judicial killings.

“Hakuna haja ya kuua watoto ati kwa sababu wameweka picha yako kwa jeneza. Hii sio sababu ya kuwachukua ama kuwaua. Mungu atakuweka mahali pako siku ikifika,” said Gachagua.

He also pointed out that the outrageous hurling of insults despite the threats and number of abductions is a clear indication that the President lacks moral authority in addressing the country’s moral deterioration.

He added that the whole charade was started by President Ruto himself, because he would throw insults even during public rallies and go unpunished.

He gave an example of MP Farah Maalim, the president’s defender, who recently made an offensive remarks towards Kenyans.

According to him, Maalim’s insults were much worse compared to the silhouettes

“Hii kuwekwa kwa jeneza na hii matusi ya Maalim which one is worse? Si ni ya huyo Mheshimiwa,” Gachagua questioned.

He added that there was no reason for someone who is alive and healthy to be intimidated by being displayed in a coffin because everyone is destined to die one day.

“Hii matusi yote ni wewe ulileta kwa hivyo usilalamike,” he said, adding, “Si ni wewe ulituambia Uhuru Kenyatta ni Mlevi na Raila Odinga ni mchawi.”
