Former Cherangani Mp Wesley Korir has defended Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya in the planned impeachment.
Speaking in Trans Nzoia, Korir, asked the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to drop the alleged planned impeachment motion.
“Let the governor do his work. We don’t want to hear about the impeachment. He was rightfully elected by the people, let complete his 5 years tenure,” he stated.
He urged the MCAs to allow Natembeya deliver for the people, as they wait to decide in the 2027 general elections.
His sentiments come days after speculation of an impeachment motion against Natembeya which is set to be tabled, when the MCAs resume sessions in February.
Earlier, former Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa had called upon the opponents of governor George Natembeya to let him work, as he prepares to unseat him in 2027.
Additionally, Korir urged the residents of Trans Nzoia County to desist from tribal politics, which could lead to tribal woes. The county is also known to be a metropolitan, with all communities residing in different parts of the county.
Natembeya clash with MCAs dates back to the impeachment of his members of the executive, with currently four of his CECs missing on the latest reshuffle of county ministers.
Earlier, the MCAs defied Natembeya’s plea not to impeach a section of his cabinet. The four, were however, impeached in December 2024.

They include controversial minister Stanley Kirui and Julia Kichwen among CECs releaved of their duties. The four MCAs remain suspended, until the case is heard.
