Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Hon. Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has left his fans in concurrence with his sermon while attending a church service in Utawala.

During the sermon at Eden Springs SDA Church in Embakasi East, the MP underscored the importance of child upbringing, urging parents to always ensure they nurture their children in a proper way.

The lawmaker also heightened the significance of parents spending time with their children in order to mould them in a way that is appeasing.

” If you bring up your child in a nice way, then your child will turn out in future to be a better person. Equally, if you bring out your child in not a wise way, then your child will turn out to be something or someone else, different from what you expect in future,” preached Babu.

The leader also went ahead urging parents to always be of sober mind and watchful, while using the Book of 1st Peter 5-8.

” We need to be watchful of our families,  in our country as we bring up our children. ”

Additionally, Babu Owino touched on the issue of abusive marriages, which has had negative impact on the lives and upbringing of children.  He stressed that over 80 per cent of people currently in prisons are from broken families where a child was brought up as either as a total orphan, or brought up from a single parent or maybe, have both parents alive, but in abusive relationships. He affirmed that children learn what their parents do.

Babu also warned parents of calling their children some provoking names, which might implant negative implications on their upbringing.

” Usiamke kila siku kuita mtoto mbuzi. Huyo mtoto siku moja utatukia akipiga meee, mee,” said Owino, throwing congregation into amusement.

Parents should also employ love language to children, with Babu outlining that children need touch, warm receptions and giving them affirmative words such as, telling them how kind, generous and beautiful they are.

Besides, he emphasized on encouraging the children to work hard and follow Godly paths, in order to secure them a brighter future.

The sermon was warmly received by online fans, who applauded the leader for such a great mind and astuteness.

“The sermon is thought-provoking and speaks to the heart of parenting and societal values. By pointing out that children often carry the scars or strengths of their upbringing into adulthood, you have shed light on the profound responsibility parents and caregivers hold,” said Geofray Jeff in Facebook.

Jeff added, “Your emphasis on spending time with children aligns with biblical teachings on love, guidance, and discipline. It’s a call to action for parents to nurture not just the physical but also the emotional and spiritual well-being of their children. This message undoubtedly left an impact on the congregation at Eden Spring SDA Church. Keep preaching such transformative lessons!”

Eve Opolo replied, ” Parents go through a lot sometimes they need to choose but spending time with children and going out to look for means of survival.”

Chelangat Maureen was also not left behind in lauding Babu Owino, with hopes that one day he will clinch the top seat in Kenya.

“You are a true leader we love you future president can’t wait for that moment,” she said.

Robert Kwenze remembered what he went through during his old days in the hands of parents while responding to Babu Owino’s sermon.

“I think God should’ve given us an opportunity to choose our own parents…what some of our parents took us through was really unbearable,” he wrote.
