AEF Ruben Primary School has unveiled nine new classrooms for Grade 9 learners, in a colourful ceremony earlier today.
This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Government of Kenya and the generous support of the Roberts Pike Foundation, Australia.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Peter Kirika, Nairobi Regional Director of Education, and Mary Kimeu, Embakasi South Sub County Director.
Brother Frank O’Shea, the director of Ruben Centre, while speaking during the event, acknowledged that Ruben Primary School is a government-sponsored institution, but has been facing financial constrains, and therefore the need for support.
“As Christian Brothers Ruben Centre, we stepped in to fill the gap. We are grateful to the Roberts Pike Foundation and look forward to supporting approximately 4,400 learners in 2025,” Frank stated.
Frank also commended the school’s headteacher Mr. Peter Kanyago and the advisory board for their commitment to overseeing the construction, even during the festive season.
Peter Kanyago, expressed gratitude following resilience shown during the construction of the classrooms.
“We thank the government and Ruben Centre for the incredible support that made this possible,” he asserted.
Mary Kimeu, Embakasi South Sub County Director, appreciated the school’s dedication, noting, “It’s remarkable to see Ruben Primary School achieving a 100% completion rate in our area.”
Nairobi County Regional Director of Education, Dr. Peter Kirika expressed his joy while acknowledging the school as one of the best schools Nairobi has.
“The turnout on day one has been impressive. Out of 125 schools in the Nairobi region, Ruben has truly outdone itself, Dr. Kirika remarked.
Ruben centre extended a heartfelt appreciation to the Roberts Pike Foundation for their unwavering support in making this vision a reality in pursuit to paving the way for brighter futures.
