The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has promised to stand with the family of the slain Kilifi County acting manager Aisha Akinyi Abubakar
In a statement to the press on Monday, Hussein said that the commission was saddened by Aisha’s death and expressed condolences to the family and friends, promising to stand with them during these trying moments.
“The IEBC fraternity is saddened by her death and expresses its deepest condolences to Ms Aisha’s family, friends and colleagues for the tragic loss. The IEBC assures the family and friends that it will journey with them during this period of profound sorrow.” Marjan said
Marjan also called for speedy investigations on the matter, calling on the police to arrest and charge those behind the brutal murder of their colleague.
“The Commission is deeply concerned by this horrendous incident and condemns the perpetrators behind Ms Aisha’s death. As we condole with the family of Ms Aisha, we call on the country’s security agencies to speedily investigate this heinous occurrence and apprehend her killers,” He said.
According to police reports, the 48 year old and her son Khasimn Hassan as attacked 18 attacked at about 3 am at their compound by two suspects.
The son who is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital escaped the murder managed to drive the mother to Premier Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The killers whose identity as at the time of publishing this story had not been established, gained access to the house by cutting the grills of the kitchen window while armed with a crowbar and knife.
They are reported to have stolen electronic goods from the house before escaping.
“Immediately after the attack the gang robbed the deceased of her mobile phone, a 65-inch TV set, a sound system and an iPad.” The police said
The deceased was stabbed and cut on the head above the right eye while the son was cut on the head.
The police visited the scene at f crime and have since launched investigations on the matter.
