Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua is mourning the demise of his father.
While confirming the loss yesterday, Mutua mourned his father as a great friend to him.
He also showed a picture they previously took together, claiming that he will not have such beautiful evenings, since his father is no more.
“Such evenings will be no more, but in everything, we give thanks and cherish fond memories. I have lost a great friend. Go well dad,” Mutua said on Facebook.
The leader went ahead revealing that his father died surrounded by his great grandchildren and was privileged to celebrate his 100th birthday, something that many people do not live to experience.
He also noted that his dad saw the First and Second world wars and also experienced all famines and epidemics as history records.
“Not many get the privilege of reaching 100 years and depart the world surrounded by their great, great, grandchildren. Dad saw the First and the Second World War and has experienced virtually all the famines and epidemics in recorded history,” noted Mutua.
Mutua also revealed how his father’s first granddaughter was heartbroken by the demise of his father, that left everyone in grief.
“ As we went through the process at the Funeral Home last night, one lady family member was inconsolable. Other family members cuddled up to comfort her, then it dawned on me that she was actually dad’s first granddaughter and that she too has grandchildren and was the first to give my parents the pride and privilege of seeing their 4th generation.”
Despite the grief, Mutua is grateful that his father has lived up to his rich legacy, acknowledging the fact that it is the Lord who gives and the one who takes.
”Dad’s departure is painful but he has left such a rich legacy. “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.” Job 1:21,” he asserted.
His father’s death comes barely two years after the death of his mother. Mutua’s mother died in February 2023.
In the message announcing her death, Mutua said his mother woke up well, took her breakfast, and sat at her favourite spot on the verandah of her house where she passed away peacefully.
