As President William Ruto is expected to give his annual State of the Nation Address tomorrow from 2.30 pm in the Parliament as stipulated by the Constitution, Wiper Party leader, Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka and his team have already criticised the address.

In a statement, the self-proclaimed People’s Loyal Opposition led by Kalonzo has revealed that the President will fabricate the speech with lies, while addressing the key areas as required by the dictates of the law.

According to the Constitution, the President is expected to tackle areas such as promotion of national unity, power sharing, democracy, public participation, human dignity, equity, social justice, inclusivity, equality, human rights, non-discrimination, protection of marginalized groups, good governance, integrity, transparency, accountability, and sustainable development.

Kalonzo affirmed that his speech writers will try to cover up the sorry state of affairs in the country through fabricated lies that will overwhelm the tomorrow’s address.

“ It will be an address that will have kept the president’s speechwriters up for many nights, since even the most casual observer of the country’s social, economic, and civic scenes will attest to the sorry state of affairs in all three areas. It will definitely be interesting to hear and read how they try to hide the truth that Kenyans are tired of the self-serving and rigid administration that listens to no one, respects no one, and keeps none of its numerous promises,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo went ahead outlining that Kenyans will expect unfulfilled promises about new projects that the government plan, including the funds set aside for Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

“The People’s Loyal Opposition believe that, Kenyans will once again be subjected to half-truths and outright lies tomorrow. They will hear new rafts of meaningless promises about new projects that… will begin shortly.”

“They will be informed of billions of shillings “set aside from the empty coffers” for these fictitious initiatives. They will hear new falsehoods about the manifestly failing Social Health Authority (SHA)/ Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) programme, which was designed to replace the now-defunct 58-year-old National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF),” added the leader.

Kalonzo also claimed that President William Ruto will spread lies about the affordable housing initiative and Hustler Fund, which he termed defunct.

“More lies will be spread concerning agricultural and food production, the so-called affordable housing scheme, and, of course, the non-performing Hustler Fund,’’ asserted Kalonzo.

On the issue of Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) system of education, devolution and national debt,  Kalonzo said that Kenyans should be ready to hear imaginary stories as the President will paint a beautiful picture of how the country is making progress in the aforementioned areas.

“ Kenyans will also hear imaginary success stories about the economy, the national debt, and support for devolution. The failing competency-based curriculum (CBC) for schools will also be praised. In his typical style, the president will paint a rosy picture of a country that is at odds with reality.”

However, the leader assured that Kenyans are not gullible to the falsehood of the President. He said that the head of state is using falsehood since he has failed to give sovereignty to the people and has disregarded them.
