As the country is celebrating and swearing in Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, embattled and impeached DP Hon. Rigathi Gachagua is currently at home with his family.
The former DP since the High Court ruled against his wish yesterday, has not given any update.
The former second in command while speaking since the yesterday’s incidence, has acknowledged the gift of family that the Almighty Father has blessed him with, adding that he is grateful to the Lord.
“Home Sweet Home! Thanking God for the gift of my family. The smell of fresh grass, sounds of chirping birds is what a happy family needs. I will remain forever grateful to God, for giving me a loving and supportive family,” said Rigathi.
The leader reiterated that he is happy to be at home, where his life was lit up. He also said that his love for the beautiful sceneries in the Mount Kenya region surpasses human understanding.
“ We are happy to be home, where I was born and brought up! I can’t wait for the morning to take my walk in Hombe Forest, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt Kenya as I thank God for His kindness.
With a ‘God Bless Kenya,” conclusion, Rigathi prays that peace reign in the country.
His wife Pastor Dorcas Gachagua also posted in her social media platforms saying that, despite all the challenges, they remain grateful to Lord
‘We Give God all the glory. It is easy to look at the challenges and circumstances surrounding you and forget the cardinal rule of a believer. Today, my family and I choose to give a prayer of thanksgiving, understanding that, God remains sovereign, whether He saves us from fire or not, Daniel 3:16-18. We give thanks to God for His awesome faithfulness. We call Him, Ebenezer, for this far we celebrate Him. We have seen His mercy and experienced His goodness. Glory and honour be to His Holy name,” she wrote.
The embattled DP was impeached on 17th October 2024 over eleven charges where only five stood to be true by the Senate.
He went to the court to challenge the decisions of the Senate but to no avail.
Prof. Kithure Kindiki has been sworn in as the third Deputy President of the state and has promised to be faithful to his boss, unlike his predecessor Rigathi who was at loggerheads with President William Ruto.
Kindiki was in charge of Cabinet Secretary for Interior, a post which the President appointed Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi to take charge on acting capacity.
